The annual Check Point Level Up event is always something to look forward to in the Irish cybersecurity calendar, and the 2025 edition at The Gibson Hotel in Dublin was no exception.
Couldn’t make it to Level Up Dublin this year, or just want to relive the highlights? Here’s a short recap from Jonathan Boyle and Ronnie Hamilton at Climb, covering the key themes, standout sessions, and the product updates that got everyone talking.
Jonathan’s View from the Floor: Insights, Updates, and Ecosystem Evolution
Kicking off the day were a series of deep-dive technical roundtables, an energising start for any Check Point partner keen to get hands-on with the latest updates. With spotlights on Cyberint/ERM, Harmony Email and SASE, DDoS protection, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Quantum, these sessions provide the opportunity to hear directly from the product specialists who live and breathe the tech.
The main conference followed, opened to a packed house by Seamus McCorry, Check Point’s Ireland Country Manager. His welcome set the tone for the day, where we had thoughtful discussions around resilience, regulation, and what’s next for security innovation.
Mark Hitchins (SE Manager, UK&I) got things rolling with a session on building a Resilient Cybersecurity Ecosystem, a timely theme. One of the standout presentations came from Yochai Corem, CEO of Cyberint (now part of Check Point), who showcased how Cyberint’s External Risk Management (ERM) is being integrated into the broader Check Point offering. The live examples he shared made a compelling case for proactive, intelligence-driven protection, especially for Irish organisations.
Later, Ian Porteous (Regional Director, Sales Engineering) explored Check Point’s growing focus on AI and how it’s embedded into their technology. The theme continued with a discussion on regulation and compliance, delivered by Neil Redmond (PwC) and Rik Mason (Check Point), who gave a practical and forward-looking take on staying secure and compliant in today’s fragmented regulatory environment.
After a full day of content and presentations, we wrapped up with food, drinks, and time to catch up with industry peers. There’s a real sense of community at these events and a shared appetite to keep pace with the scale and speed of change. Roll on Level Up 2026.
Ronnie’s Product Highlights: Cyberint, WAF, and AI-Powered Expansion
From a product perspective, a few things really stood out for me this year.
The integration of Cyberint’s ERM solution into the Check Point stack is a big step forward. It brings together AI-powered threat intelligence, continuous attack surface discovery, and managed services, offering enterprises real-time visibility into external risks and the ability to automatically contain threats before they escalate. It’s particularly strong on its ability to mine intelligence from the open, deep, and dark web, then turn that into preventative action. That’s a serious asset for any organisation looking to prevent ransomware attacks.
There were also some interesting updates from the Check Point WAF team, particularly around securing access to Large Language Models (LLMs). With more businesses experimenting with AI, ensuring that data passed to LLMs via APIs or web interfaces is properly protected is critical. Check Point’s WAF now extends automated, machine-learning-driven protection to those interfaces, offering API rate limiting and access controls that safeguard your data before it ever touches the model.
And finally, it was interesting to see that Veriti is now part of the Check Point portfolio. Climb worked with Veriti previously, so we’re familiar with the power of its AI-based security platform. It proactively assesses risk across the entire security stack—on-prem or cloud—and recommends or automates remediation. Its integration should open up new opportunities across Check Point’s customer base, particularly for those looking to simplify security posture management at scale.
