With a decade of experience in healthcare software and nearly two years at Climb, Jake Eskanos has carved out a unique role as Climb’s sole Channel Sales Engineer. Equal parts technical expert and people person, Jake brings a “Jake of all trades” approach to helping vendors and resellers translate complex solutions into real-world impact.
A Technical Edge in Distribution
Jake’s role is all about bridging the gap between technical depth and sales strategy. He works closely with vendor managers to deliver enablement sessions, product demos, and certification support — ensuring resellers are equipped to empower their end users.
“I want to make learning digestible and relatable,” says Jake. “Whether it’s a reseller, end user, or someone internal, I want them to understand what we’re selling and how it impacts real people.”
Expanding the Sales Engineering Vision
As the lone sales engineer at Climb, Jake is spearheading efforts to grow the team. Following strong interest at Black Hat, Climb is exploring how a technical-first approach can differentiate its distribution model.
“There’s real value in having someone who can demo a product and speak to its impact,” Jake explains. “It’s a play that sets Climb apart.”
Success in Action: Darktrace Partnership
Jake’s recent collaboration with Leo Barth, Vendor Manager for Darktrace, is already yielding results. Their joint efforts have led to increased engagement and excitement from partners.
“We’re just at the tip of the iceberg,” Jake says. “Bringing technical insight to the table is opening doors and driving momentum.”
The Man Behind the Role
Outside of work, Jake is a self-proclaimed modern Renaissance man. A native Coloradan, he enjoys baking, spending time with his wife, son, and fluffy dog, and embracing the outdoors. His engineering mindset even shows up in the kitchen — where precision meets creativity with his hobby Jake’s Bake’s!
Solving the Right Problems
Jake believes the biggest challenge in the industry isn’t just solving problems — it’s identifying the right ones.
“People often think they have problem A, but really need to solve for problem B,” he says. “My role is to help uncover those deeper pain points and offer holistic solutions.”
