VIP Marketplace Frequently Asked Questions

Have General Questions About Adobe? Visit Our Adobe Product FAQ.

Select one of the 6 topic areas below

Enter “NEWMPID” in the PO field normally designated for the agreement number.

Include all required customer information with the account-establishing purchase order.

The new customer account will be created based on the details provided in this initial PO and Customer’s Marketplace ID will be generated by Adobe during order processing once the customer activates their account.

The customer’s anniversary date will be set according to the date of their first order.

After the order is processed, the new Customer MP ID will appear in the DSS Reseller Console within 24–48 business hours.

If this is a new affiliate/linked customer, please advise when customer completes the activation so we can finalize the linking relationship within our marketplace.

A new VIP Marketplace customer is created with the submission of a new order. Please see the process documents below:

If you have accepted the Terms & Conditions and have an active reseller account in the new VIP Marketplace, set up new VIP customers in Marketplace.

There is no difference in pricing.

Resellers are transacting orders/invoices in the same way that they do today. Behind the scenes, the reseller is transacting Adobe VIP business with a DSS/Climb marketplace, which is transacting with Adobe.

No. LWS will not display VIP Marketplace Customer IDs or VIP Marketplace orders. Purchase history on legacy VIP contracts will still be available.

Yes, Education Specialization is still required.

VIP Marketplace requires two separate accounts set up for VIP — one for US and one for Canada. Contracts assigned to the current US account will stay under the US account and contracts assigned to the CAN account stay under the CAN account.

There are not currently plans to integrate these systems.

Customers will receive an email upon migration from Adobe and they will see their new CustomerID in their admin console. Outside of that, this change will be invisible to them. There is messaging resellers can share proactively with customers in the resources section below.

Once the VIP contract is migrated to VIP MP, they will be assigned a unique CustomerID. It’s a one-to-one relationship from contract ID to CustomerID.

The primary contact will have the ability to add additional contacts for their account once they are in the Storefront. Please reach out to cloudmarketplace@dss-edu.com.

After accepting the Adobe VIP Marketplace Terms & Conditions resellers will receive access to the DSS/Climb reseller console which will provide visibility to VIP Marketplace licenses and products. For more information on the DSS/Climb reseller console, please watch the reseller console enablement session posted above.

The DSS/Climb Reseller console should be updated every 24-hours.

If the customer has an incorrect education market segment they will potentially not be able to purchase certain products that should be available to them.

For example: A K12 School set up as a “nonprofit” would not be able to purchase K12 offerings until their market subsegment is correctly adjusted to match the customer’s market segment to segment specific product offerings.

Adobe will need to clear the original segment type so the customer can complete their profile correctly. To resolve this, the individual listed as the system administrator within the customer’s Adobe console must set up the market sub-segment via the Admin Console by following these steps:

Log in to the Admin Console and navigate to the Account tab > Organization details.

No. This process of a reseller change needs to be initiated by the end-user customer. The customer needs to generate a code* which the desired reseller can send to DSS-Climb (cloudmarketplace@dss-edu.com) and we will complete the transfer.

This change should take less than 24-hours and the updated reseller receives confirmation when it is complete.

If the current admin is still with the organization:

The current primary admin (contract owner) can transfer admin rights by following these steps:

1. Log in to the Admin Console: https://adminconsole.adobe.com.

2. Go to the Account tab.

3. Click Change next to the current primary admin’s name.

4. Select the new admin to grant primary administrator rights.

5. Click Save. The new admin will receive an email invitation to accept the role and the VIP terms and conditions. Once accepted, the Admin Console will reflect the changes.

If the new primary admin is not yet in the console:

The current admin must first add the new admin as a user:

1. Log in to the Admin Console: https://adminconsole.adobe.com.

2. Go to the Users tab > Administrators.

3. Click Add Admin.

4. Enter the name or email address in the Basic Information screen. You can either search for existing users or add a new one by entering a valid email and completing the required fields.

5. Click Next to proceed to the Admin Types screen.

6. Select System Admin and click Next.

7. Click Save on the Summary page.

No, they will remain in the same tier.

No, the anniversary date will remain the same when they transfer from legacy VIP to VIP Marketplace. There also will not be the ability to change the anniversary date in VIP Marketplace.

No. Same as legacy VIP, all renewals are 12-month terms.

VIP Marketplace tier levels operate the same as they have in legacy VIP. They are adjusted at time of renewal unless a total qualifying purchase for a higher tier is made mid-term.

Yes, please email your DSS/Climb inside sale rep, found here, Sales Team – Climb Channel Solutions, for your quote requests.

Renewal orders can be placed up to 3 days before their anniversary date but will not be provisioned until the anniversary date.

We cannot process renewals more than 30 days prior to the anniversary date.

For Education customers, auto-renewals will be turned off except for 3-year commit customers, and renewal skus will continue to be offered. Best practice is to submit renewal orders at least 3 days before the anniversary date to avoid compliance issues. After the anniversary date the contract between the customer and Adobe is technically no longer valid. At this time, Adobe is keeping the licensing provisioned for the 30-day grace period, but this is subject to change at any time without notice.

If we receive a renewal order 1-3 days before the anniversary date or after the anniversary date the order will be processed as a new order within the marketplace (on the back end).

During this window they will see duplicate license count until the grace period ends.

Yes, the stock license will still drop out of the console.

Returns may be requested within 14 days of the order. Returns outside 14 days will require approval and may be subject to administration fees.

If an order includes more than one product, you may return the entirety of a line item within the return period. Adobe currently doesn’t support partial line-item cancelations.

Yes. To generate a quote, your customer will need to provide you with their customer MP ID and a screen shot from their Adobe admin console account tab confirming their tier level and anniversary date.

Note: Orders may only be placed by the reseller on record.

Yes, please email your DSS/Climb sales team for quote requests.

A prorated sku is priced based on number of days left until the anniversary date rounded up to the full month.

Example: Placing an order on June 15 for a license with a December 31 anniversary date, you would use a 7-month SKU.

Migrated VIP and New VIP Marketplace agreements will not be displayed on LWS however LWS currently displays purchase order history. Through the migration period ending November 30, 2025, you can access sales history.

Purchase history within the Marketplace is slated but not yet available. Until then, you can continue to access your purchase history from the DSS/Climb Reseller Portal.

The 3-Year Commit option in Adobe VIP Marketplace lets a customer commit to a set minimum number of licenses for three years. Those licenses will auto-renew on the customer’s 1st and 2nd anniversary dates. In exchange, Adobe provides set discounted partner pricing for all qualifying products throughout the three-year term. Customers must sign an additional agreement to enroll.

Minimum Commitment Requirements: 10+ named user licenses, or 1,000+ Acrobat Sign transactions.

Customers pay annually at the agreed partner price for the committed license quantity. They may add additional licenses anytime during the subscription term, and these additions receive the discounted rate that was in place when the 3-year commitment started.

Customers can also increase their discount level by increasing their minimum license commitment, but doing so does not extend the original 3-year term.

Exceptions to Reducing License Quantities: Reducing below the committed license level at renewal is rarely approved. Acceptable exceptions include: school closure, acquisition/merger, bankruptcy or similar business changes.

Resellers must understand that 3-Year Commit licenses auto-renew by default unless a valid business case is submitted to Adobe ahead of renewal.

How to Submit an Exception Request: All exception requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the auto-renewal date.

Email Format: Subject: Request 3Y Commit exception – (Customer Name – VIP MP ID). Body: Provide a clear explanation of why the customer is requesting an exception.

The “Active” field is populated through information coming directly from Adobe via an API call and should match Adobe records. After placing an order, allow up to 24-hours for information to be updated in Marketplace.

This feature request is under consideration. Continue to send feature requests to cloudmarketplace@dss-edu.com.

End User contact name and email are features currently in request with our dev team. We will notify reseller partners of updates to the Marketplace as they become available.

Note: to find this information, currently, the reseller account name can be found in the migration status tab which is updated when a reseller change is made.

Resellers should contact cloudmarketplace@dss-edu.com with any questions.

Customers should continue to direct their Adobe questions to their reseller partner.

Contact your Inside sales team (Sales Team – Climb Channel Solutions).

For technical and order related questions regarding the Marketplace, use cloudmarketplace@dss-edu.com, for VIPMP reseller questions specific to skus and orders, contact the Sales Team – Climb Channel Solutions.

Adobe has decided to not share the exact number of times that licenses can be added through the console without a purchase against the licenses.

VIP Marketplace does still allow linked memberships. During the migration, the “owner” or “parent” must migrate first and then the affiliates would be able to migrate. The link would be retained.

The migration process does not make any changes to existing links.

When customers migrate from VIP to VIP Marketplace they will be removed from the current VIP Reseller Console. This VIP reseller console will remain active until November 30, 2025, by which time all contracts should be migrated.

There is a short exception window for customers’ contracts with an expiration date beyond November 30, 2025, to migrate that agreement after November 30. Resellers are encouraged to migrate those customers and their agreements as close to November 30 as possible to maintain smooth operations and benefit from features available in the new VIP marketplace.
